NeoGraft FAQ

What is NeoGraft?

NeoGraft is a form of FUE hair transplant where the donor hair is extracted via the use of a machine, allowing the hair to be extracted much more quickly and accurately compared to doing it manually.

Is NeoGraft safe?

Absolutely. NeoGraft has been approved by the FDA as a safe devicefor use in FUE hair transplants and is used by many surgeons throughout the U.S.

How do I know if I’m a good candidate?

You’re a good candidate for an FUE hair transplant if you’d like the option of wearing your hair short, or having a short back and sides cut. This is because, unlike an FUT hair transplant, FUE leaves no visible scar behind.

Good candidates should have moderate hair loss that’s stabilized for the best results. Typically the more existing hair you have, the greater the coverage you can expect.

How long does it take to perform?

The length of time it takes to perform a NeoGraft hair transplant will depend on the number of grafts that need to be harvested. A typical procedure takes between 3-8 hours.

Are the results permanent?

Any hair that’s newly transplanted is permanent. However, this doesn’t mean that you cannot suffer from further hair loss on other areas of your head. For this reason, it’s usually recommended that you take hair treatments to stabilize your hair loss.

How long until I see the results?

The newly transplanted hair will continue to grow for around 3 weeks following your transplant. Around this time, it will begin to shed. This is perfectly normal and part of your hair’s natural growth cycle. New growth will begin at around 3-4 months and you can appreciate the final result at approximately 6 months post-transplant.

Will I need to take time off work?

This will depend on the type of work you do. If you work in an office and you’re mostly sitting down during your workday, then you should be able to return to work immediately. If you do more physical work that causes you to sweat or if you have to wear restrictive headwear, then it’s recommended you wait until the new hair has had time to take root.
